Prioritize your day

We are all busy or so it seems. Sometimes we are busy doing nothing though. Let's face it. Sometimes we are running in so many directions that nothing gets accomplished! And at the end of the day tire worn out, didn't accomplish what you set out to do and you're wondering what happened! 

Yup! I've had those days. Problem is I just winged it without actually having a plan. BAD idea!!

In order to get results, you have to clearly outline your goals and devise a plan to reach them. 

Lay the framework for your day in advance as make sure it includes time for YOU....to eat healthy....to move your body and to meditate and regain your center. Everything else will line up so much better.

It's the little victories that matter most

I have picked up some weight lately dealing with transition, stress and my bout with domestic violence. Last couple of weeks I have been trying to reverse the effects of FAT! I've never been a scale monitor because I understand that it's not always the best indicator. But this morning it was the first thing I did after the usual potty squat of course. I wasn't even looking for a victory but HOT DAMN!! I was down 1.8 pounds. I was all in the bathroom getting my church dance on. Thank God!! I'm waayyyyy too old for excess baggage. 

Today I am going to be on cloud 9 no matter what!! Yup you guessed this blog post is coming straight from my kitchen as I'm preparing my first meal of the day. 

This morning it's a strawberry, pineapple and mango smoothie with vanilla yogurt and vanilla almond milk. I've grown to love these things!! The key is finding your favorite ingredients and combination. 

Whatever you do today...keep it healthy...so you can keep it sexy!

Sunday is Funday is the Best Days

Woo Hoo....one of my favorite days of the week is Sunday. Why? Because I am forced to slow down a bit and relax (or at least make an honest effort to try) and because I love worship and because it's my grill day and now it's FOOTBALL (go Ravens...caw caw)....and before you say it (I know that was a hellishly long run on sentence) but you got my point :-)

this morning in spite of my yesterday...I got to start fresh. I woke up and immediately got on breakfast detail!!! You don't know how happy that makes me (can you imagine me doing the cabbage patch and running man all in one)


I've got my Pandora rocking in the background as I mentally prepare for the rest of this beautiful day. I hope that whatever you are doing today that it involves some quiet time, some reflection time, some relaxation time, some good and healthy food choices and some movement.

Make a commitment to yourself this upcoming week to try at least one new healthy food choice and find a new exercise that is fun of course.

Saturday Confessions

Today started out in a crunch. I was rushing this morning for an appointment and didn't have time for my breakfast....I knew that was going to turn out HORRIBLE!! 

When I wake up the first thing on my mind is smashing! So I went to my appointment and my stomach was touching my back when they brought in a tray of fattening ass Otis Spunkmeyer Muffins and big ass honey buns! 

They dropped some banana nut on my table....thought I was safe because I don't eat those....but just at that moment when like that monstrous hunger pain rippled through my body...I spotted a blueberry muffin like mine eyes had seen the glory!!

I wrecked havoc on that muffin....like it was the coming of the messiah!! I promise you it didn't stand a chance. 

Ran straight from there on to my next engagement which required a 2 hour commute Still with no time for food. Grabbed some chips on the go (yuck) they were really gross! 

When it finally came time to eat real food it was damn near 6pm and I was 5 meals behind. I did manage to still make some healthy choices...I filled half my plate with green (salad, asparagus, and broccoli) and then there was the chicken breast I selected over the beef and I had to have some of those red potatoes and roll....but I skipped the wedding cake! (That was harder than college statistics). And to compensate for some of those calories I hit the dance floor!

6 am hunger pains

Every morning when I wake up the first thing on my mind is FOOD!!! The rest of the day is optional but that first meal is crucial for me. Cereal, grits, toasts, turkey bacon, hell anything I can get my hands on QUICKLY will do!

I try to make it a healthy start tho! The way you start your day normally will lay the foundation for the rest of your day.

Introduction

Ever since I can remember I've always had an issue with my weight....well conforming to standards, charts, doctors numbers, societal views, and family pressure. 

Hmm..I guess that really means that for the most part I didn't have the problem...THEY DID!

At any rate...it's always been an issue even if it simply meant I couldn't fit into the fabulously cute clothes that I saw and shit!

So...after years and I do mean YEARS of dealing with this beast...I've decided to share my life as a Thick Chick...flaws and all....THIS SHOULD GET INTERESTING :-)
